1/8/25  Milford, Connecticut Audubon Coastal Center.  9:15am-12:30PM.
sunny, 26F, very windy, marsh frozen over except for tidal stream flowing,
but open water farther out.  Lagoon frozen over. Several visitors enjoying
our critters and views.
On a short, windy walk to the Long Island sound side, I observed about 35
Snow buntings and a few Horned larks and several gulls.
On the marsh: (viewed from inside building, with scopes)- 15 American Black
ducks in tidal stream; 2 Buffleheads, 5 Gadwalls , 2 Mute swans, 2 Great
black backed gulls and about 80 Canada Geese- all far out in open water in
marsh.
On the grounds and feeders: 2 Northern Cardinals, 1 Tufted titmouse, 4
House finches, 2 Song sparrows, 2 white throated sparrows, 7 House sparrows.
