My port fuel tank has stopped feeding fuel to the header tank. It is full to the brim with fuel. My guess is that there is probably a screen inside the tank that has plugged with crud. Guess I will have to disconnect the fuel line from the tank or the header and blow backwards to try to free it. That will leave me with a line full of air to purge. Anyone else got some ideas here?
I had such a screen plug on a previous boat, but the pickup tube was removable from the top of the tank, which made the cleaning easy. On this boat the fuel feed line comes from the side of the tank at the bottom. With 180 gallons of diesel fuel in the tank, I'm not anxious to open the bottom of it.

My port tank was in this condition when I brought the boat. Blowing
through the hose will only be a temporary fix. I had Dr. Fuel clean both
tanks. The port tank was sludged up with dead diesel bacteria. He pumped the
fuel out of the tanks, and back, several times, through a large filter with a
high capacity pump, to clean it and the tanks. Then he gave the fuel a
chemical shock treatment, and filtered it again. I have good flow, now, with
only minor debris showing up in my recors. I also have installed a polishing
system that I use often. I bet you need to get your tanks cleaned.
