The South Peel Naturalists' Club hosted the ONPH Christmas Bird Count today.
Prelimary result have us at 83 species supported by eBird Checklists and an
additional 5 species declared at the Round-up with checklists to be entered
into eBird giving a grand total of 88 species - one shy of count record of
89 species from 2014.
Highlights include Cackling Goose from UofT Mississauga, Pied-billed Grebe
from Great Lake/Rebecca Stormwater Pond, Turkey Vulture, Osprey - no
details (yet), Ruby-crowned Kinglet at mulitple locations including
Sedgewick Forest, Brown Thrasher north Hwy 5 near Bronte Road, and Eastern
Towhee from 16 Mile Creek Valley west of Trafalgar at Freestone Lane
