Bird was on the small island just east of island beach. Scope was needed! From Robert Hutton: 01/10/14 - New Haven, Long Wharf -- The Snowy Owl was located on the rocky outcrop Sound side of Long Wharf pier this afternoon. I was there for a little over an hour but had been there for half that time before I saw the bird. From Russ Smiley: 01/10/14 - Stratford, Raven Pond Park -- 1:00 PM; three Northern Pintails (2m and 1f) and perhaps a fourth (male in odd plumage, no long tail) resting among a couple hundred mallards at Raven Pond. There seem to be other smaller groups, too, one with 3 or 4 Rusty Blackbirds (with 3 Common Grackles).
