*Self-Hypnosis, Mental Discipline, Confidence, More *
Some examples of everyday spontaneous hypnosis are daydreaming, being lost
in a movie, being absorbed in a good book and highway hypnosis. Your
critical conscious mind sits on the sidelines as the hypnotist’s guided
instructions (hypnotic suggestions) influence your subconscious mind. You
are not asleep, nor completely awake. Hypnosis might be called an
in-between world between sleep and wakefulness.
Among the benefits of capitalizing on the *power of your subconscious mind *are
helping us to recover faster from surgery and to reduce stress related
illnesses which are the cause or partial cause of 70-90% of physician
visits. The power of the mind to heal is evident in using hypnosis in pain
control, obesity, dentistry, asthma, oncology, obstetrics, smoking, weight
control, and hundreds of other medical and psychological challenges. For
example, a 1992 major research project by the U.S. Surgeon General
indicated that hypnosis is the most successful method to overcome smoking.
Since Covid started, there has been an explosion in the number of
therapists and counsellors using hypnosis with their patients, because it
works.
“Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the
largest ever scientific comparison of ways of breaking the habit.
Willpower, it turns out, counts for very little.” (New Scientist, Vol 136
issue 1845 31 Oct, 92, page 6)
With hypnosis, someone thinks and feels like a true non-smoker, not just
someone who resists smoking. Their self-image has changed effortlessly to
non-smokers.
Hypnosis changes thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and behavior. Hypnotherapy
helps in letting go of feelings such as fear, anger, guilt, worry, hurt,
anxiety, and jealousy. Much wisdom lies within Proverbs 17:22: “A *joyful
heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.” *Research
studies have found that the state of our health is greatly influenced by
our positive or negative thoughts we run in our head. Hypnosis and
meditation clear the mind and make it easier to let go of negative thoughts
and emotions. Listening to your body, your symptoms and letting go of toxic
relationships is important for mental and physical health.
Subconscious programming can instill new optimism, anticipation of better
days ahead, peace of mind, gratitude, happiness, and enjoyment of the
present moment. Life becomes a whole new ballgame when you walk with your
head held high, feeling victorious.
How about a Self-Confidence Boost?
*Cindy Crawford, American supermodel *said, “I want to wake up looking like
Cindy Crawford”. Do not expect or try to be perfect. This is evident from
Blooper Videos of our revered celebrities. No one is always perfect except
in editing and photoshopping. Sometimes it is the editor who makes a movie
great. Confidence does not come from fear. Confidence comes from jumping
in, doing things, effort, learning new skills, and learning from mistakes.
Write a list of everything you can do well. You have learned a lot since
you were a young child. You could not even find your mouth with a spoon as
that young child. What can you do that many others in the world cannot?
Have you been practicing negative self-hypnosis conditioning? You know it
works: “I can’t do this or that;” “He, or she will not like me;” “How can I
be so stupid?” “I’ll never be able to lose weight, stop smoking, stop
drinking”; “I can’t fall asleep.” Time to practice* positive* self-hypnosis
conditioning.
With positive self-hypnosis, you simply relax and focus your hypnotic
concentration with purposeful daydreaming on what life events you want to
happen. This success programming changes your mindset to create a
self-fulfilling prophecy. When you or a hypnotist has programed your mind
to think and act differently and automatically, others treat you
differently.
Consider how confident people think and act. How would they do what you
want to do? It applies to performing in the Olympics, public speaking, the
dating world, work, learning a new skill, all areas of life. This reminds
me of Henry Ford who said, “Whether you think you can or you think you
can’t, you are right.” Now, this new mental programming may take effect
rapidly, but you need to set aside time for mental training. Like all
skills, the more you practice, the better you are doing it, and the faster
it works.
You can go through life with mental calm, energy. You can also learn how to
turn around negative programming from other people. Using the power of your
subconscious mind, you go beyond conscious mind affirmations and positive
thinking. Others will be impressed by your new feelings of programmed calm
self-confidence. You can master self-hypnosis mind power for positivity
