I'd like to know if Scott can still see his bootstripe
and how much fuel is onboard during this observation.
Thank you,
Bill

Funny you should mention this! Today I wanted to take on 600 gallons of
fuel to see if the stern would settle out below the bootstripe. Right now,
with 300 gallons of fuel, an empty holding tank and full water my bow is AT
the top of the boot, not the accent stripe, but the boot stripe. As we have
added gear its moved up and down, up as the stuff comes into the saloon and
then down as it gets distributed, much of it further forward in the boat.
The big news is I was able to achieve near perfect trim (port/stbd) by
loading the boat differentially with gear. I use to have more fuel in my
port tank then starboard, now I'm within 25 gallons of each. So, as the
final stuff gets sorted out I hope to be able to take on a full 960 gallons.
The stern is showing about 4 inches of bottom paint. I believe when I take
on 600 gallons of fuel it will be at the top of the paint. I'll let you
know! We didn't get fuel today, but I will soon.
