All hands--

What do you make of the new Krogen 55 Expedition Trawler Yacht?

http://kadeykrogen.com/news/index.php?test=1&page=introduction&story=235

I'm looking for input and feedback in order to be able to write an
introductory news item for Trawlers & Trawlering.

It looks faintly reminiscent of the Kadey-Krogen 54'.

Looks like it borrows a lot from the Nordhavn 55... almost identical
dimensions in all areas and the same high freeboard and extra living
space that provides. Difference is no fly bridge, but maybe that's an
option. It draws about a foot less water than the N55 (at 5'9" half
load).

Range is listed as being identical to N55, but with twins and less
fuel capacity (1800 versus 2250), I wonder about that.

Not much doubt from looking at it that they are going up against what
I believe is Nordhavn's biggest seller now. Last I heard, more than
fifty N55's were delivered or on order.

But the devil is in the details. Can't judge any of those from this
blurb.  But competition is always a good thing for boat buyers.
