Sometimes a visual is all that's needed. A cap that has a bulged top, is discolored, or burnt in any way, or stinks, is probably TU. Sometimes they literally blow their top. Can look like an arson scene inside the wiring compartment.

Third male flew off, Then at 11:50am all 3 ospreys flew away. at 11:55am, 2 males returned, circling but none landed. This nest site has a late start this year. I'm not able to see if there are any eggs, because it's on top of a light pole. But I don't think there are, because the nest stays unoccupied for extended periods.

From time to time I encounter one or the other of those here and there, but never succeeded to find them all in one place. If there isn't, can you please collect them in some convenient way?

During each listening period, the surveyor records all species of owls seen and heard. I have listed the available routes below, as well as the nearest town. There are also a number of routes which have never been run, and would require scouting beforehand ("new" routes).
