Hi Die cast boxes are your friend when building this sort of thing. Hammond makes them and so do a lot of other folks. They are reasonably cheap and pretty easy to work with. I have accumulated a pretty good pile of them “in inventory” in a dusty box in a back corner of the basement :).

Wow Great to hear that I have almost no experience of sand moulding, but we have made hundreds of die casting moulds if not thousands. In Engineering we have designers who mainly work on expensive softwares like nx , Catia, creo, autocad etc. It's very easy to make mould designs in these softwares, although I don't work on that.

So if the choice comes down to a 24 mile set and a 36 mile set, all else being equal (sharpness, easy-to-use controls, good screen size, reliability, etc), I would go with the 36 mile set. Capt. Maurice has made some very valid observations about electronics in general and radar in particular over the last couple of months.

Conversion of turbo charged to NA

The only 2,500 hour candidate for de-tuning to naturals would be the engine with easy hours and proper intermittent high speed running (15 minutes every three running hours or so). Not all 2,500 engines are equal. An engine that began its life as a natural is just getting broken in at 2,500 hours.

I think the best strategy is to have the usual case be easy and obvious, and the advanced case be possible.
