TWL: Report on epoxy filler experiments with boat
Sat, Oct 4, 2003 12:33 AM
I mixed burnt rice hulls with a table top epoxy from Raka inc. The tabletop epoxy is very thick, fairly cheap and is a one for one hardener to resin ratio so it makes it easy to mix the two together after thickening with burnt rice hulls. I just kept adding burnt rice hulls until the mix was very thick.

Easy to test to make sure I'm correct. Just remove the wires > from the switch (they slide off) and measure to see if it is 'open' or > 'closed'. > > There are a couple of batteries (at least one) that might need to be > replaced. Easy to measure the voltage and see the date code.

So if you are looking for some Atlassing opportunities at this time of year because you have already found all the Red Crossbills, have a look for Pine Siskins. Participation in the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas is straight-forward and easy.

Re: Deck core replacement
Sun, Oct 18, 1998 2:59 AM
We also had a design flaw in the bulkhead connecting the cabin top to the aft deck. The bulkhead was not extended all the way down through to the hull ( it reached only to the deck) resulting in a weak connection which had to be repaired every couple of years. Here I started with the idea of replacing the deck and have now rebuilt the entire boat.
