Mid-morning to around
noon, was spent at the B&B where observers noted 10+ EASTERN BLUEBIRDS
frolicking near the "Hallowe'en tree", and a BELTED KINGFISHER flew towards
the pond at the back of the field. As well, our keen-eyed visitors spotted
a couple of flocks of HORNED LARKS flying overhead.

The rain got gradually lighter after that, ending completely by 10:30.
After that a thick fog hung in the air, only getting thicker as the day
went on. The temperature went from 9 C to 13 C, and the wind remained out
of the South all day ( max 25kph). The pressure dropped from 29.95 to
29.92.

Weather:
Thin veils of cirrus clouds spiraled and stretched across the sky, carried
by a sometimes not-so-gentle 10 mph breeze. Southern winds brought milder
temperatures, climbing from 50 to 68 degrees, though jackets were still
needed once our picnic tables slipped into afternoon shade.

This is the weekly report from the Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory for the week of May 10-16, courtesy of Bander-In-Charge Stéphane Menu.
This past week, major movements happened in the first two days, followed by a sharp drop in temperatures and strong west wind that neatly stopped migration in its tracks for at least 3 days.
