Mon, Jul 11, 2011 11:35 PM
The new guys are die-hard canallers, and have a lot of plans for the canal system, including reconstruction of several locks, major dredging all over, and a lot of maintenance, some very much overdue. This all takes money, lots of it.

The new guys are die-hard canallers, and have a lot of plans for the canal system, including reconstruction of several locks, major dredging all over, and a lot of maintenance, some very much overdue. This all takes money, lots of it. The Canal Corp recently proposed a Bond Issue and it passed the Legislature and now awaits Governor Cuomo's signature.

Tue, Jun 25, 2002 6:45 PM
All DeFever 44s have a sea chest and the one on my boat is about 16" square and 3 feet high. The entrance is open to the sea and covered with a grate and the top should be slightly above the water level so that the top can be remover and the chest cleaned out.Hope this helps. fred flinn

Before we bought it, a hard top was added that stops at 19'8", and the previously folding mast was hard-wired into the hard top so that it is now essentially fixed and makes for a 24'8" air draft.
