Thanks much to all who responded to my inquiry.  I was able to get one of the Upland Sandpipers and amazing looks at the phalarope.  At one point it came within 6 feet or so of me, totally uncaring.  Gorgeous birds. Andrew Andrew v. F.

Hi Georgs and all, The link in the email leads to an ad using George Buehler's name and welcoming him to the outfit that made the page. The address below, given in the text of that webpage, goes to Buehler's website. The website is quite interesting. http://georgebuehler.com Wayne M/V Celestial Albin 43

Finally I threw it all out and replaced it with an FET > power switch module somebody gave me about twenty years ago. It has only a > few millivolts drop. I should have used it sooner.

All chain rode scope question.
Tue, Aug 29, 2006 11:37 PM
To settle an argument, I am looking for an all chain rode anchoring scope table. Chapman's nor the Coast Guard Auxiliary Seamanship manual has anything on all chain rode scope. I need something in black and white. Ralph Salerno M/V ANCORA San Diego

That, as far as I'm concerned, is Mobil DELVAC One. I have no connection to Mobil, but am a believer in their product. There's a good test report that I can't put my hands on right now where the military put Mobil DELVAC One through some pretty extensive testing and the results were enough to confirm my trust in the product.

A few local pets, especially cats, die each year from lapping up puddles under cars. They like the sweet taste, apparently. I remember some years ago there was a great scandal about Austrian vintners(?) having added trace amounts of glycol to their wines which hadn't sweetened sufficiently on the vine.

The only thing a 8-10% change in hertz will do is make your electric clocks inaccurate but a low voltage will deal things like AC and fridge fits and if it gets too low the compressors will overheat and could die. Bill

If nothing else, you would probably die from exposure if you were out there a long time. The EPIRB (or preferably, GPIRB) would hopefully prevent that though.
