Visiting Guest Policies
Mon, May 23, 2011 5:39 PM
I posted a question a few weeks about visiting policies you all had and got more than 50 responses. Most were quite helpful, and some were down right draconian. Had an INITIAL discussion with the Admiral and she is quite keen to have NO policy.

Sedge Wren Visits
Mon, Jul 9, 2018 5:39 PM
For some of you it was your first visit to our Bafflin Sanctuary in Pomret. We protect more than 700 acres in Pomfret and assist the Wyndham Land Trust with management of their adjacent and proximal lands as well. It is a special place and one of the few that specifically manages for grassland and early successional birds in Connecticut.

[Ontbirds] Calliope Hummingbird in Goderich - Review of the rules for visitation for this weekend
Fri, Nov 23, 2018 11:34 PM
That excuse will not cut it as we enter what is anticipated to be very heavy and crowded visitation by those who were working all week and had no opportunity to visit before tomorrow. Please don't ruin things for others due to such carelessness on Saturday and Sunday.

TWL: Take a break from boating : visit Montreal...
Thu, Nov 4, 1999 8:41 PM
So please feel free to visit. I have been long enough on this list to know the quality of the people and the respect they have for each other... even if I learned a few words which are not in my dictionary, here and there...

Re: [time-nuts] Thermal impact on OCXO
Mon, Nov 7, 2016 12:08 PM
If you dig into the FCS papers there are various curves proposed as models. Mil-O-55310 has one of them as the “official” approach. All of them have the basic issue of mistakenly fitting to to short a time constraint. Bob > The aging rate appears to be stable from unit to unit, so naturally I considered the OCXO first.

Re: [time-nuts] Meaning of MTBF (was: Reliability of atomic clocks)
Mon, Mar 28, 2016 12:59 PM
Back then we called it Mil-Std 781. (I am sure it morphed into more modern tests). We had both a pre-production qual-test and a production acceptance-test, both required to meet MTBF's, that were run for reliability. I took stock in them; as did others.
