TWL: Re: Equipment reliability - Mil Spec
Tue, Jul 1, 2003 4:48 AM
t with a bad product we should scream like heck! Most people do not do that. REPLY Great Advice! On two occasions I met a customer who decided to buy a particular model boat but declined to have any equipment installed. In fact one boat was delivered without appliances. The owner then had the boat fitted with his particular choice of electronics and appliances. In both cases the owners concerned were experienced boaters and had done their homework. They knew exactly what brands they wanted and which installers they trusted to do the work. Not a bad way to go. Arild --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. d of someone minimizing a large profit center? Exactly. And while the manufacturer may receive extra "profit" from the post warranty repairs, they will do so on the lost profit of future sales. An old axiom in sales is "A happy customer tells one other person, an unhappy customer tells ten." Will I buy Raytheon/Raymarine again? Not very likely. Will I warn others about Raytheon/Raymarine. I already did. How many people read TWL? Your point, and my experience, is exactly why US companies are falling behind in the global market. We have advanced technology and superior engineers, (although we're starting to fall behind in that area as well) but the corporate bean counters insist on performance for this quarter's numbers, not on the future. Thus, the future will be lost. Jim & Jan McCorison M/V Maqana currently at Van Isle Marina, Tsehum Harbor, Sidney, BC, Canada

[Ontbirds]pine grosbeaks and r-s hawk, campbellville
Sun, Dec 2, 2007 6:53 PM
There has been a flock of about 10 Pine Grosbeaks at a tree on my lawn for a week. They are in the tree nearly all day long eating the berries and I have gotten some excellent photos. I also just saw a red shouldered hawk on Campbellville road sitting in a tree where Twiss road intersects.
