Re: [time-nuts] PRS-10 Missing SP values in Appendix A.
Sun, Sep 15, 2019 12:42 AM
This was the goal of this exercise since my PRS-10 had apparently aged enough that it needed this tuning to be able to lock without everything being at the extreme edge of configurable values. The divider values in the officially released PRS-10 manual range wildly from a low of 1466 to a high of 7187.

Citizen Science existed long before the term 'citizen science' was coined. 2. You don't need to be a *citizen* to observe, learn or participate. (a catchy but poor choice of words perhaps). 3. You don't need to be a *scientist *to contribute to science. 4.

Our dinghy dockage fee entitles us to use the lounge area with TV and large trading library, the coin laundry facilities, and a large workshop area with table saw, drill press, etc. Showers are available for $1.50. Last night, we went to the Dockside Lounge for their "Taco Night", with $1 tacos, and $2 Margaritas, with live music and dancing.

TWL: RE: What's a trawler?

The term 'trawler yacht' was probably coined by a marketing person, not an engineer, and therefore has no meaning other than some vague image in the consumers mind. Try to define Sport Utility Vehicle. Defever uses the tag line 'Overshore Cruiser' for the 44 Defever. What does that mean? I have no idea other than I like the sound of it.

Rules versus etiquette

The other side of the coin for many planing boats is the fuel used and the much higher wake as the boat goes from displacement to planing speed. Bob Austin

Re: [time-nuts] Loran?

It is a coined word. Technically to be an acronym the it must be spelled by the first letter of several other words. "SCUBA" is an acronym but "scuba" is now a common English word that has displaced the old 1950's vintage "SCUBA" in modern usage. But "radar" was never an acronym.

Re: [time-nuts] Toy radiolocation and LORAN envelope

In "monitor mode" the locator would request a micro-power ping (not using the coin battery, just the capacitor. from the toy and use a large non-mobile antenna and would alarm if the time of flight changed.
