Here is the latest SHOREBIRD update: Embrun: 40 birds of 10 species were seen on the 5th, in the usual limited habitat. A WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER was the least common species seen. Andrew Haydon Park: A modest amount of habitat is showing, with small numbers of common species.

RED-NECKED PHALAROPE – there were two sightings of this scarce migrant: at Amherstview Sewage Lagoons on 10 September and on Salmon Island on the 15th. NEOTROPIC CORMORANT – the bird was last reported on 14 September. FISH CROW – no sightings of the downtown Kingston pair were reported this week.

If this assumption is true, the amount of sub 10 or 30 micron junk that gets by the 10 or 30 micron primary will not be so much that the secondary filter will ever require changing more often than recommended by the manufacturer.

At least 10 Redwing Blackbirds and the solitary Red Breasted Nuthatch continues to visit the suet and peanut feeder
