o. I even built a few hot rods that way. In the case of the PM article they were using after market products not GM parts. Now were they "restoring" the truck but rebuilding it functionally. It will be interesting to see their cost breakdown in part two. BTW Similar conditions would prevail in the marine world. If you bought everything at West Marine and had all your work done at the most prestigious yard in Florida or Seattle, then naturally your cost may equal or exceed a brand new boat. But, we have already seen several list members who have bought old boats and refurbished them and the results seem worth while. So it remains to be seen if the notion is viable. cheers Arild --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). ings domestically and they are still in business and apparently making enough profit to remain solvent. Mermaid in Fort Meyers make stuff in-house. Analytic Devices in Richmond BC also make things locally and offers some really superior products Glendinning Kobelt and Wagner are still in business making things domestically Ditto for several heater companies. East Penn is a domestic manufacturing company whose battery products consistently outperform their Asian competitor's equivalent. A number of small volume domestic yacht builders such as Northern, Westbay, Camano, American Tug etc. do build domestically and produce a good product using domestic labor at the going wage. So it can be done. I can't count how many east coast builders there are but it is sizable. Regrettably when companies grow too large something seems to happen. Last week Palmer Johnson announced they are going under and closing their doors. Many of their employees are being snapped up by other builders. Hopefully the pool of skilled workers can be kept together and set to work to perpetuate the fine craftsmanship so evident in P-J yachts. Cheers Arild --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. lso important to change positions frequently and keep those muscles from staying in one position. Sometimes I will work on a project for a certain length of time, then stop and work on a different project, so I don't end up with a back ache from being in one position for too long a time. with a lathe could make these - Spanish cedar, cherry, locust... not going to be cheap though. Thought just struck me - check out Lowes for spindles for staircases - most likely ash or oak - should be long enough or you could cut them... How about using stainless, brass or bronze? Re: [OpenSCAD] Working on SpacePilot support, need help with rotation

work anymore when I tried it last time, several years ago... Ahhh, I also have the buttons and dials boxes... :-) Attached is my current state of the affair. I moved the event handling into class QGLView and I handle translate / rotate in separate methods like you. I switched from signals for event delivery to QEvent subclasses. This makes it easy to deliver events to the in-focus window only. See SpaceNav::Impl::operator()( void). It should be easy to modify for spacenavd. The button handling needs a bit work. I noticed that this is slightly different on MacOS compared to Linux and NetBSD. Maybe because the 3Dconnexion driver reprograms the device on MacOS... The rotation problem is still unresolved. -- tschüß, Jochen

t could be used as well like joysticks, the remote interface discussed lately or maybe there are other 3d mouse devices with more reasonable licensed SDKs. No need for something hugely complicated, the event stuff you wrote covers probably already quite a big part of it. > There are more things to do. I can't help much here as I have no clue about Qt > GUI programming. (And I am not much interested to gain that skill. The number of OpenSCAD users running the Windows version is quite large though, so it does matter a lot. No need to worry, I'll try to take care of that part (even if a bit grumpily ;-). ciao, Torsten.

is the only one that interacts with the driver, and the driver is opened/closed only by the first/last window. Regards Gert PS: I tend to prefer the direct spnav connection over using X11 events, because I hope Wayland will take over the world soon. (Which, in X11 terms, probably means in the next one or two decades, I guess...)
