They would fly low and at a close angle to the building and then crank upward at the last second to surprise a pigeon sitting/snoozing up on the roof top edge. We would witness them ripping apart their quarry in the trees within the parklet outside of our building.

Hard to top the great look at the Philly Vireo But also in addition to the spp. mentioned by Patrick at Salt Meadow unit yesterday morning was the following: Brown Thrasher Black-throated Blue Warbler Eastern Towhee Eastern Wood Peewee Eastern Phoebe One young Turkey Vulture sitting atop the USFWS HQ building. All before 0830 hrs.

It can easily be overlooked as it sits at the top of White Pines and blends in, looking like a clump of needles. The male Barrow's Goldeneye was present again, yesterday, at Remic Rapids just below the lookout.

[Ontbirds]Huron Fringe Bird Report

There are over 80 events and over 40 top notch leaders. The migration corridor along the shore of Lake Huron known as "The Huron Fringe", extending from Kincardine to Tobermory on the Bruce Penninusula is the area we cover. Our birding hikes, presentations and workshops are lead by very competent birders and naturalists from all Ontario and Michigan.
