Do you want to deplete
all
of one 6 volt bank trying to boost up one bad member, or would it be better without the extra circuit and let the one battery
die
peacefully on its own. Let's take a worst case scenario. Assume one of the batteries in the lower 6 volt bank develops a bad cell.

Provision for a
coin
cell back up battery. unknown) One of the DS3231 parts, in a thermal enclosure that has a time constant in excess of 24 hours. I think it's about the size you request. A temperature sensor changes the divisor based on calibration data. Sort of a doubly compensated device TTCXO or T2XO. I like this one for a practical product.

Fortunately, it seems that a
coin
-cell battery will work perfectly. Once the boards arrive I'll do some tests with the supercapacitor. Many thanks to
all
for your help. Cheers! -Pete

Re: GL: Canadian Poop - Someone told me...
Tue, Feb 24, 2009 8:46 PM
We sat right next to a boat up in the North Channel when the "authorities" came aboard the boats and dropped
die
in toilets and one boat flushed out red
die
. He was taken away. We later learned that he got fined big time and the boat chained until changes were made. By the way, the boater was not from the USA. Canada does not want your poop!
