Will fix 9/10 report upon receipt of results.  Have heard today (9/10) was an even better day, at Lighthouse.  Reminder for those interested in big Broad-winged hawk flights. Get outside on any northerly winds, from about September 14 to 22.

Amongst the 57 species noted yesterday were: American Bittern - one spent most of the day about 30 feet in front of the viewing platform 13 Great Egrets - no wing tags 8 Black-crowned Night-herons - various ages 10 Blue-winged Teal 150+ Gadwall 50+ Northern Pintail 13 Hooded Mergansers 1 Common Gallinule and 3 Coots 5 Pied-billed Grebes 1 Greater and one Lesser

>From Greg Hanisek   10/22 New Haven, Lighthouse Point hawk watch - 401 diurnal raptors, primarily Accipiters and Falcons, but 4 Bald Eagles put the season's count over 200. Buteos were almost no-shows. Morning's non-raptor flight was thick and fast. Highlights were one flock of 61 SNOW GEESE and one flock of 20 EVENING GROSBEAKS.
