Re: T&T: Battery size

In adition to six 27 or 31 AGM's, and three 27 or 31 gels, they also threw an Optima yellow-top into the test. Because of its low AH capacity per pound, the yellow-top isn't really very comparable to the other deep cycle batteries in the test. Both blue-top and yellow-top "deep cycle" Optimas might be better described as "dual purpose".

[Ontbirds]Peregrines at Bloor and Yonge
Sat, Mar 4, 2006 10:29 PM
Two adult peregrines regularly roost near the top of the CIBC building on the Northwest corner of Yonge & Bloor in Toronto. Sometimes, one is at rest and the other does spectacular flying displays nearby. No evidence of nesting, but one was devouring its prey yesterday. They rest on the top of the brown window sets just below the top.

TWL: : Daylight Flat Screen Monitor
Sat, Jul 28, 2001 4:11 AM
I would think that the separate screen would be much easier to mount to cut the glare and light than a lap top. On the other hand I have been using my 15" screen lap top for three years on the flying bridge and occasionally I have to fashion a sun shield with flat matt black painted card board, but most of the time the screen is very readiable.

TWL: "Alligator"
Fri, Dec 7, 2001 10:26 PM
About three feet over the trunk cabin was a hard top extended all the way form the pilot house to the stern (similar to Defever 48). There was a sugar scoop type of swim step, and the dinghy carried with the end of the pontoons on the swim step, and the bow lashed to the hard top--sort of upside down, with the motor attatched.

Re: Subject: TWL: Battery Box Construction

Arild, what is your opinion about the "bubble" in the top of the battery box? Do you recommend vents in the box top, no vents or do you think it is not important either way? I was in the process of building a custom box but might just buy one of the Todd or Tracy boxes. Thanks Jim Fidler "Fiddlesticks"
