I appreciate what you're saying, and yes, many de facto hacks exist to protect people. The more I think about it, the more I think that nearly all web frameworks probably do this header namespace squashing. The squashing clearly creates security problems, as we have discussed.

"Does this program work?" may be answered in specific cases, but not in the general unconstrained case.
