A die grinder. I just hog-off the extra plastic until they fit. Of course, there is always the option of making your own using ribbon cable, or making a little extension with ribbon cable between a DB9-m and DB9-f.

Thank you very much.

Die cast boxes work pretty well for the enclosures. If you want to zero the gradient in the inner enclosure, put a small fan in there. That adds it’s own issues so it’s probably not really something you want to do.

Re: [time-nuts] Hydrogen Maser KIT! Update #1

Too little or too high, and the oscillation will die off. It may be one of the things to tune up if you got an older one which needs a bit of good old Love, Tender and Care. If you don't dare, I can pass you the appropriate address for it. ;-) Cheers, Magnus

It might be possible to hand solder the 36-pin 0.5mm pitch QFN to this Schmartboard product: http://schmartboard.com/schmartboard-ez-qfn-36-pins-5mm-pitch-32-pins-65mm-pitch-2-x-2-grid-202-0043-01/ One question is would the die attach pad, which apparently needs grounding, get enough heat sinking.
