I'll likely get a heavy die cast box for my thunderbolt at some point.

Odetics won the bid for 1,000 units and within a few months of being installed the started to die. 90% where located in FM radio transmitter buildings, so of which would cost $1,000 via helicopter to get to in the winter. When they where replaced many of the Antenna/downcoverters were just left behind. Odetics picked up the bill to have them all replaced.

Re: [time-nuts] Thunderbolt serial port problem

I had a TBolt die but would still put out 10 MHz. No serial data and no PPS though. Have you looked to see if there is 10 MHz and a PPS? If the issue is the TBolt, make sure the voltages and ground applied to the connector are actually getting to the board.

That AC line is quite the challenge to stabilize (it's 1000km long, and I've heard that transients take hours to die out).

I googled Rossi-Focardi and at least their device looks to have some shielding, unlike the USA version, so in the unlikely event they did create fusion everyone in the room would not die from the radiation.

Who will throw it in the dumpster when you die? If you are completely new to this, where would you like to start? Something cheap from an "auction" site or a new hydrogen maser? Don't mind me, I've been around too long. Bill Hawkins

You get your big length of 141 and your little bending tool, the die set and crimper from Kings, and you can cable up stuff (once) pretty quickly and neatly.
