Re: T&T: Diesel tank failure
Thu, May 5, 2011 9:55 PM
Assuming that there is enough room above the tanks, and that the rest of the tanks are in good shape, you could have new tops welded onto the existing tanks and hopefully you can get a welder, space permitting, to do so in situ. Another idea is to grind down to clean metal and, using epoxy and fiberglass, glass on a new top, over the existing top.

My first instinct would be to take a `nut()` from screws.scad, attach a short `tube()` from shapes3d.scad to the top of it, then attach the `top_half()` of a `sphere()` to the top of that.

Ralph Yost said: "I think the approach to law and its enforcement in Florida makes more sense.....If the marine police board your boat, they test the waste system with die markers and determine if your waste system is in position to pump overboard. If so, you get a noticeable fine. There is no mechanical disassembly of the waste system required !"

It isn't an "end-all" answer, but nobody wants to die when there are easier "boats of prey" abounding nearby.

Greg's true comments of survival.
Thu, Feb 14, 2008 2:11 PM
So true your comments Greg on annual die offs of birds through natural occurrences such as the one I have mentioned for the Redpolls, and your unbelievable examples of the Longspurs. Life for any wild creature is always at risk, and for any species to avoid occasional catastrophic reductions in numbers is most unusual.

If this be true, they would have no need for fear, paranoia, worry, panic or the thought they might die, be injured or handicapped; All emotions we as humans unfortunately posses. > > Anyone want to comment on or ad to this thought?
