Tracor Omega VLF Synthesizer
Wed, Aug 24, 2005 4:31 PM
-The power supply, labeled "Power Interface", has a round mil-style 15-contact connector labeled "Signal Output". -There is an Austron 1100 ovenized 5.304 MHz crystal oscillator inside. (Does anyone know the specs for the Austron 1100?) I've seen Tracor frequency references and comparators before, but nothing like this unit.

Re: [time-nuts] Help identifying coax connector type

Many Mil connectors have individually insertable/removable pins. You can mix and match as you will. IDing what fits what requires research. This looks like a Winchester Monobloc or an AMP equivalent. Best, -John > > Thanks!

DATUM 9390-52054 Grief again...

"TANS" is Trimble Advanced Navigation Sensor, a GPS receiver designed circa 1989 for UAVs and similar mil/aero applications. Almost certainly has six GPS channels. Generally spoke a version of TSIP, like the Thunderbolts. Often RS-422. "SV6" as someone else mentioned, is another Trimble 6-channel receiver from the same era.

It's a mil-spec connector and I don't see any way for the connector pins to come out.  It looks like it's probably pressure tight.  You can see the blue plastic pin in the third picture.  It's almost like it has something to do with the rubber strain relief/enviro shield, but I dunno what. They worked fine, ran through all the testing, met all the mil spec testing. After sitting on aging for months / years the seal would go “pop” (a nice loud pop) and the vacuum when away. This sort of thing does happen even when all the T’s have been crossed and every last i is dotted.
