How well they can do this (ie: how small can they keep DUT1) depends on the quality of their science (and/or coin-flips) >I notice that this subject seems to make you a little grumpier than >the Poul-Henning I am used to. I hope I am not treading on ground >you feel already is too well covered.

I am not at all happy with the idea of having it magically stall, or stutter. That's something for some library function to keep track of after the fact. Unfortunately, the leapsecs list never made the threshold of my free time allocator. I subscribed for a while, but found it rife with bickering that seemed intractable.

This is interesting.

Re: [PUP] Any suggestion - or PPM should die ?

Here's a suggestion... as opposed to rambling around with a blank sheet of paper, let's start with a specific example of an all-out passagemaker, Dashew's Windhorse, which was designed for optimal passagemaking comfort and safety, and compare/contrast his approaches and decisions to those this group might find desirable.

Top Five Passagemakers
Tue, Oct 23, 2007 12:45 PM
All of these have attributes peculiar to early passage makers; for instance, all have paravane stabilizers. However we also know folks who have circumnavigated in their Hatteras LRC, sans paravanes. It's so difficult to pick five, because even when narrowed down to Passagemakers, there is more information needed. Where will you cruise?
