Now where is that variable tuning fork I once bought to do my daughter's piano.... :-) Actually I tried to buy a de-sulfator here in Toronto, but all I get is stares as in "which planet are you from?". I got a lead on a company in Winnipeg, Manitoba but they want $200 for one (that's the cost of two good deep-cycle batteries).

Recommendation for a Birding Hike Monday morning
Sat, Jan 28, 2012 3:16 PM
Our school has a random day off on Monday, and I am looking for a place to take one of my students on a birding hike Monday morning. I consider myself a neophyte birder, and I have discovered that walking a nice trail in the woods doesn't necessarily yield any bird sightings at all.

I haven't had it happen to me, but I am wondering: If I'd carry a few feet of refrigeration grade soft copper tubing (for bendability), and the necessary cut and flare kit complete with a selection of fittings (or compression fittings), could I not make at least a temporary repair?

So, if I run the diesel with the switch in "off", I don't charge the batteries. And that is not a good situation - you may wish to check this out on your boat. George of Scaramouche1

When Zeke first started the thread, I was going to jump on him privately until in the last second I realized that he was creating humour and for some of us it's midwinter and a bit of humour is welcome, methinks. Gg

And I realize that this is probably a pretty tricky thing to do in what's basically a log viewer.  But it would still be nice. Maybe in my copious free time...
