Hello All,

We hope that you will consider entering a team in this contest. Information is provided below but please contact us if you have any questions.

Virginia Tech and the Motorola Solutions Foundation are sponsoring a student design contest in spectrum sharing and cognitive radio during the 2015-16 academic year. Initial phases of the contest are open to remote participation, and top teams will be invited to a final competition in Blacksburg, VA, USA in late May 2016. Qualifying teams will be offered travel support as well as the chance to win US $5,000.

Teams are required to register by October 15, and will be provided with basic working software-defined radio code (GNU Radio and liquid-dsp versions) at that time. Teams will also be provided with access to open source testing software developed at VT and user accounts on Virginia Tech's remotely accessible CORNET radio testbed. Participating students can use these resources to implement and test their radios. Teams that register before October 15 will be provided with CORNET accounts upon registration and will be eligible to attend early online information sessions on the testbed and contest.

Please refer to the attached entry form and website (http://radiocontest.wireless.vt.edu) for further details, and contact cdietric at vt.edu<mailto:cdietric at vt.edu> with subject "Spectrum Contest" to submit completed entry forms or ask questions. Also please feel free to forward this email to academic colleagues and students.

Thank you for your time and hope to see you in the contest!

Best Regards,

Carl Dietrich and Vuk Marojevic
